Is there any way to turn off lineweight of selected items?
I'm in version V8i SELECT series 10 (Windows 10), previous version V8 (2004 edition) changed only color of selected items, but not lineweight. Now, its not possible to edit the text, because I can't see what is there?!Thank you in advance!
Select the elements and use the 'Change Attributes' tool to change whatever attribute you want. (Another method that does not change the elements would be to turn off Line Weights in the View Attributes.)
I don't want to change element lineweight, and I don't want change lineweight to all drawing elements per View Attributes method (It reduces lineweigt to entire drawing). I just want when Selection is "On", not to change line thickness, but keep it in the same style as it is not selected.
Is there any way to change Selection Preferences?
As Jan says. the design file settings and User Preferences allow you to change the selection set highlight colour. I do understand what you mean when you talk about line weight - the selection set line weight does not change, only the highlight colour..
Yes, highlighted color becomes thick when it's selected. Old version doesn't do this. Which Category I should adjust in Design File Setting? I only see under Color - Selection Set Color, but nothing for Selection line weight. Thanks,
Can you show a screenshot of what you are getting - the attached image is what I see when I select something. My highlighted line is not getting its line weight changed.
I have selected text above in my post. All 3 rows with gray color were affected by selection. Blue color text above was not selected, and you can compare how line weight changed.
Hi Igor,
Igor Soaltys said:All 3 rows with gray color were affected by selection
I had a chance to test how selection worked in V8 2004 Edition (which is old and not supported version for years) and you are right, at this version, when elements were selected, the highlight was implemented using color only, not weight.
I assume, but have not chance to test it, that it was changed in V8 XM Edition, probably as a part of introduction of new graphics engine based on DirectX (and not OpenGL as older versions). So I think it's not about the difference V8 2004 Edition and V8i (SELECTseries 10), but about V8 2004 Edition and all later version.
It means that MicroStation has worked this way (a selection means changed both color and weight) for probably last 14 years. It's possible to change the highlight color, but not weight (I do not recall any such information or discussion).
With regards,
Jan
