Hello everybody,
I alredy askt this question in the grmain forum, but I din't get an answer so I thougt maby someone outside the germain forum might be able to help me...
What I wanted to know is, if it is possible to make a custom Linestile where the with isnt always the same.
Like for example, thet the red Lines end where the Green form ends and the short red lien in have.
It dosnt have to be with the custom Linestile if there is another way to do this, that would help to.
sorry for my English its not perfect, but I hope you understand what I mean.
Thanks Michelle Doppmann
Hi Michelle, there's a German company that sells a "Böschung" tool for Microstation -> https://www.cadcom.de/Downloads/cc_tools/cc_boeschung.pdf . I guess if they sell such a solution it's probably not an easy task to program such a tool yourself.
Linestyles can have a width that can be set by either the element properties or ByLevel.
But as far as I know, each element can only have one width defined. If I want to show a different width, I have to create a different element. I may be missing something, but I think the tool mentioned above may be your best choice.

Something that may work for you is to use the Custom Line Styles Toolbox. There is a tool called Modify Line Style Attributes. One of those setting allows you to adjust the width of a custom line style. It may be what you are looking for and you will probably need to experiment with the tool and line style elements to get it to do what you want.

Only for its price it doesn't produce good results and at some points lines get crossed. That is why I have asked for such idea - https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/i/openroads_conceptstation/openroads-draw-slope-direction-pattern-hatchures
I have made a VBA tool which produces similar results and work also in Powerdraft but have stuck to find a way how to draw the lines so they do not cross in case of large curves.
BTW such tool Draw slope direction pattern is already available in PowerSurvey v8i/Powercivil v8i SS4/SS10 but is now missing in CONNECT edition. Ok, ok in OpenRoads Designer annotation groups it is possible to achieve something similar but it is overcomplicated and requires to model complete geometry.
An alternative is to create custom line style with long perpendicular lines, then place it, drop the linestyle and clip it to the line. However the long and short lines will not have proportional lengths.
