Crazy behaviour: Element Templates association get lost by certain actions

Hallo,

we use MicroStation Connect Edition 11. 800

We use a lot of Element Templates to define Styles incl. 3D-Pattern and 3D-Linestyles

We have noticed, that if we do the command ctrl. + c  and then ctrl + p the Element template is no more associated. Level Color and so on is all correct, but element template information itself is gone.

We have noticed, that if we are importing a cell with element template definition, that this definition is partly gone, especially if the element is a 3D-Linestyle or 3D-Pattern. We tested this even with "merge into master". After merging the element template information is deleted. Is this a known issue?

Kind regards

Gerd Geisler

  • Element templates and or RGB colors in Microstation seems are in neverending "beta" or " technology preview" as long as I remember and still counting with multiple defects never fixed. It is magic circle state because of such issues with templates they are not widely used and as they are not popular it is not top priority to fix them. Another issue is that without correct implementation of element templates Standards Checker doesn't work as expected.

Other way how to corrupt template association is to try to use Smartmatch it also ignores templates. Write a service ticket and post the defect number so I can also add it to the list.
