Following up on this blog at https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/b/microstation_blog/posts/steel-now-available-for-microstation-connect-users it refers to a location of the files to be copied to |MicroStation\mdlapps\
I don't have this folder in our server location which CE points to. The closest I have is "\Organization\Mdlapps"! Do I copy all the steel files to this location?
Bentley - Could you advise on this.
Stuart
Create a MDLAPPS folder to your Organisation folder and copy the files into this.
Ian
Done that but the key doesn't work (ambiguous command) and it is not shown in Utilities>MDL Applications!
Check the location of your MS_MDLAPPS variable.

MicroStation looks for applications in the folder(s) pointed to by configuration variable MS_MDLAPPS. By default, MS_MDLAPPS points to ..\MicroStation\mdlapps.
MS_MDLAPPS
..\MicroStation\mdlapps
You can put applications anywhere that MicroStation can find them, including network locations.

MicroStation isn't telepathic. It doesn't know that you've created another mdlapps folder. Edit your configuration and extend MS_MDLAPPS to include your network mdlapps location. Use the append syntax...
mdlapps
MS_MDLAPPS > //ServerName/folders/Organization/Mdlapps/
Substitute your server name and any other required folders in the above path. The account where MicroStation is running must have Windows read + execute access to that folder.

Jon. I didn't create this folder. It is copy of "C:\ProgramData\Bentley\CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Organization\Mdlapps"!!

If you copy something, you have created a new something. It is an action you performed using Windows tools. MicroStation doesn't know about it.
