Design History Dialog box has a dedicated option for "Show revisions in reference files" which displays the history of attached references that have design history. To know more check out these documents:docs.bentley.com/.../DesignHistory.htmldocs.bentley.com/.../GUID-28B2323F-DDFE-AFBA-7FB1-0B8D56F49DCF.html
lol, why I have not this button in my window?I use version 10.13.00.48 (Russian)In english OpenBuildings Designer have the same
The option will appear only if attached reference have design history. "Commit changes as a revision to design history"(first option on Design History Dialog Box) need to be used for this within the reference file itself. Then from your master file reload the reference, now the option "show revisions in reference files" will appear.
Yeah! I found it. Thank you so much, Karan
Another way from old days before design history, was before drafter was allowed to make a change to a reference file he had to archive a copy to a folder called superseded and add the date as part of the file name..
Then you could reference the new file into the old file to see the changes via the highlight ref in ref manager and all your live xrefs stayed linked to drgs and always had the most up to date information...
In another company I worked for they used multiple models, they would refer to the ref file default model as being always the most current version and before making changes you had to make a copy of the default model and rename it superseded - date and add description before it changed, then go back to the default model and make changes only there .. this method is very effective and can make returning / reviving many different options through out the project without losing the link to the active current xref..and you still have all the line work handy should you need to bring it back or create new drawings as option1, option2 .. and it can still show what has changed as I described before....file size grows but it depends on how complex your job gets and design history makes files bigger too...
