Not sure if there is a simple answer to this, I've got a topographical survey (see below) with various spot levels and I would like to make a surface where the path/kerb lines are correctly interpolated between spot levels whilst still being correct in plan. I can obviously extract the edges and make into a complex chain/shape but unsure if this can draped to correct levels at each point. Is there a simple solution to this? I'm not after a triangulated mesh, just something clean which I can then generate a 2D elevation using export visible edges.
You are using Microstation? If so there is a Stencil tool under vizualization which can project 2D elements on 3D mesh which you can create from3D points as per Andrew Bell workflow. But you will face problems as the elevation text is not snapped to spot points so the mesh will not be correct in those places. There is a tolerance setting for such cases if using Openroads/OpenSite Terrain import but it doesn't work as expected(reported to Bentley) - https://communities.bentley.com/products/road___site_design/f/geopak-inroads-mx-openroads-forum/191384/terrain-create-by-text-interpolation

Not sure if export visible edges create elevations.
