[V8i Ss3] Deleting a Level and it Elements

I'm trying to clean up cells in a library. According to Level Usage, it's used but not in Cell Definitions, Application, Reference attachments, multiline styles or dim styles. The Level Properties Usage Tab says there are 3 lines.

A Fit says no elements found. A delete fence contents inside or void says no elements in or outside of fence. Select All does nothing. Set Range does not display a range box. Attempting to place it as a cell inside itself does not place anything - no new cell appears, no new range box, nothing.

I thought there was a keyin to delete a level and anything on its level, but cannot seem to locate that key-in.

  • Sadly, I have tried all of these and it fails to fix the problem.

I'm actually trying to remap the files to our new level naming system and that one level survives from that one model, while all other models using that level remap just fine. In fact, is they had remapped, I might not even know there was an issue.

I even found some rogue InRoads Survey Graphics and was able to purge them with a void clip fence, but no joy on this one cell/model.

    Create a new file.cel

make a new model say A

Rename you bad cell library to badcelllib.dgn

    1. Ref attach Badcelllib.dgn first model  into Model A  world coincedent ( make sure you have a list  of all the original model names you'll need this for renaming )

    2. Look at level manager see if is bad level there

    3. now in model A select all and copy.  ( look for bad level again in active model)

4 .Detattch ref model, rename model A to the imported Copied model name

( I know you can import all the models  but that may bring bad level with it.. or you could try and  then start over old school if it fails)

Create new model and repeat 1-4

so you work your way thro the cells one at at time...

This the only way you can fix it without programming or Axiom tools File fixer....

this is clumsy I know but it definitely  works...

You might be able to speed it up with vba...
