The Recent Files list doesn't show models any more?
Note that I've removed the project information & thumbnails from the screenshot.
Users accessing files over network and having a larger list of recent files reported slow startup time. With Update 14 we have provided an option to turn off retrieving thumbnails and other file properties.
If you require these details kindly turn on these options.

MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 14 (10.14.00.109)
Hi Stuart,
Loading the 'Models' & the 'Thumbnails' in the Recently Used File list, was causing a lot of slowness in accessing the Backstage menu, so we have removed it in UP 14. The Thumbnails can be turned ON / OFF from the Preferences > Look & Feel > Hide Thumbnail View. In the next update we will be improving the performance with loading of the backstage & have the Thumbnail and Model both available.
Thanks. If access to models is not available why have the word 'model' showing? Why not remove that as well.
'Model' will only be seen when we have the MS_STARTSCREEN_SHOWMODELPICKER variable set, which is not set 'ByDefault'. So its only seen to those who have set it. We plan to have this option back in the next update.

I don't think that this is right. I have not set that variable (as far as I know), although on checking is has has a value of 1. Not sure what that means as there is no description.
