i am using microstation V8I with the SS4 state kit
i am receiving this error message whenever i try to use link data manager to link an excel sheet. i tried using new from template, existing sheet and new from quantities but the same massage comes up. any ideas how to resolve this.
Just to check...Is your version of Excel 32 bit or 64 bit?
It's also possible that you may have to have IT reinstall the .Net (?not sure exactly what it's called?) framework. I've had that happen before when a Windows update changed something behind the scenes.

i think i have excel 64 bit. at least the window on my computer is 64 bit.
i tried to reinstall but nothing
Microstation V8i is a 32 bit application, and I don't believe it can communicate with the 64 bit Excel. You may need to install the 32 bit version of Excel, if you are able.
Our IT guy tried that but no luck
