I'm having a problem with dimensioning. When exiting the linear, angle or radial dimension command, the dimension disappears. Dimension element works fine. Location is set to Automatic. Dimensions are turned on in View Attributes. I used the repair function in the Windows Settings panel with no change. I am using Microstation v8i and my operating system is Windows 10. I have been a Microstation user for more than 25 years and can usually solve problems I run into, but this one has me baffled. I saw two other similar questions posted, but the solutions suggested in them did not work for me. Any help is appreciated.
Depending on your version of V8i, it may not be completely compatible with Windows 10. Which version are you running?

By 'exiting' I mean by hitting the esc key, clicking on the 'element selection' tool, or by starting another command. The problem is not file specific. The version of V8i I am using is 08.11.09.357. I am using a HP Envy touchscreen laptop and I'm using the touchpad and not a mouse. It had been about a year since I had used this software and the file has other dimensions in it, so I think it used to work. I also have other dgn files with dimensions that I know I created using this software so it must have work at that time. I can't remember if that was before or after I upgraded to Windows 10. Maybe I just need to uninstall and re-install the software to see if that solves the problem. Thanks for your responses Mary and Jon.
As Mary mentioned, the version of MicroStation V8i 08.11.09.357 is not certified for use with Windows 10. We would suggest you should be looking at upgrading to a version that is fully certified. Either MicroStation CONNECT Edition or MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 10).
The issue you're describing is possibly related to a graphics display issue with this system. Ensuring you have the latest driver for your system may help to resolve this issue but it may just be as easy to upgrade your version of MicroStation to a compatible version.

Have you tried just using the right mouse button to reset ?
Reset once finishes the dimension, but if you continue with another dimension, it will start at the last data point you used. Which is usually the last point of the previous dimension. If you do a double reset at the end of your dimension, you can them place additional dimensions.
I finally figured how to do a reset with the touchpad and touchscreen without having a mouse connected to my computer. After doing the three clicks: the first to locate the start of the dimension, the second to locate the end of the dimension and the third to locate the dimension text, then I touch and hold my finger to the touchscreen and that is equivalent to a right click with a mouse to reset. I also plugged in a mouse and the dimension command worked fine with the right click to reset.
To all who replied, thanks for your help.
