Would it be possible to have some sort of text style that is inherently 3d, like the block outline text but already extruded, without having to drop the text to an element them create a closed shape to extrude.
Say I have something written out, gone to all the trouble of dropping and extruding to create 3d text. There is no way to edit this text [as it's not text any more] so if someone later says " I think that piece of text should read differently" I could just edit the text without having to redo the text dropping and extruding procedure all over again.
Hopefully you can understand what I'm getting at...

This thread is about how to extrude text using VBA, which is programming question, whereas you post belongs to MicroStation Ideas section in my opinion. Plus can be discussed in normal MicroStation forum.
BTW Every 2D element can have Thickness assigned where results are quite close what you wrote about.
