hello all,
I have hard time with the word processor of my Microstation Connect Edition V8i. Whatever changed in the word processor can't be saved. I did some research and some articles say that I can change the preference to dialog box. I did. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. To my observation, when the text contains characters more than some amount, which I don't know, it will open word processor regardless I set it to dialog box or word processor.
The problem is, in some situation, I do need the word processor to achieve some complicated format editing. I tried reinstall the DHTML editior but it doesn't make any differences.
Can anybody help me on this issue?
Thanks
You mean Microstation Selectseries 10 right?
YES
The following WIKI may be of help
https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/w/microstation__wiki/7385/text-editor---word-processor-error---unable-to-load-create-dialog-item-of-type-html
If not please provide further information on the steps being taken. you mention ' my observation, when the text contains characters more than some amount, which I don't know, it will open word processor regardless I set it to dialog box or word processor. ' How are you entering the text are you not opening the dialog box or word processor first ?
You also mention number of characters, there is this article which mentions limits are you exceeding these ? https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/w/microstation__wiki/15177/what-are-the-limitations-of-text-characters

Thanks for your answer but neither of the links helps. I can open the word processor without any problem or error message. I did follow the instruction and re-installed the DHTML editor though. As I mentioned in my question, this reinstallation of DHTML doesn't help. My problem is, whatever changes I made in the word processor are not saved. That is, I can double click the text to open the word processor and edit it, no error messages at all, everything seems normal. but once I close the word processor, all the changes are gone. The text looks like nothing ever happened. And the word processor does NOT have a button called "Save" or "OK" or "Apply" or anything like that. As far as the character limitation, no, the link does not solve my issue. My issue is, if the text contains characters over a certain amount, when I double click it to edit it, it always pops up word processor, instead of dialog box. and again, whatever changes I made in the word processor are not saved. And yes, it is certainly below the 64000 character limitation.
Could you please help me?Thanks
Watch the left-hand section of the Status Bar when you double click the text element. You will notice that it changes to Edit Text > Accept/Reject Selection. This means that once you have made the desired edits to the text you must data point to accept the changes.
If you close the Text Editor by clicking the X in the corner of the editor window you will dismiss the editor without accepting any changes you may have made. This is the same as Rejecting
