June 2020, Copy & Paste From Excel & Word Documents (Windows 10 & Microsoft Office 365) Into MicroStation Connect Version 10.14.00.109.
We copy the spreadsheet or word doc "As-Is", then paste the image (format, text, lines, colors, borders, etc.) onto the drawing.
It has worked well for years, now, after update, it does not work at all ! ! !
Please advise / help - - I copy & paste many Excel Documents into my drawings.
Thank You
I can confirm i see the same issue it appears to paste the excel information as text. I tried paste special and was not able to reproduce the same quality of picture from excel that i'm used too.
It did let me paste the information into a table still, but without a means to auto correct the table size it's very clumsy and not a viable solution for production work.
So the question for Bentley is was this an intentional change and WAD or maybe the old way of doing things is built into a new tool i can't find?

It will let you "Copy" then "Paste Special" via "Device Independent Bitmap To Design File" - - But that is a pain and poor quality printing - -
There was just the same discussion in the German forum.
You need to run the key-in mdl load olecntr. This loads the MDL routine needed. You can also change the config variable MS_DGNAPPS to the standard C:\Program Files\Bentley\MicroStation CONNECT Edition\MicroStation\MdlSys\Asneeded,olecntr.ma, so the routine gets loaded automatically.
Then the old behaviour is restored.

Thanks to Sven Zigelski for publishing that tip.
But why is it necessary? Can someone at Bentley, perhaps Andrew Bell raise a Service Request to fix that broken tool?
