I have been having problems with snapping to elements coming through from reference, it will work then suddenly for reason stop allowing snap.
Not sure if its related but I also can be navigating within a 3D environment or just zooming in or out and everything in the active model just disappears.!
It seems to be happening slightly more often since I started using Microstation Connect
Hi Martin,
The next time this happen can you try adjusting your view to see that improves the results. Is there a particular view where you are seeing this problem occurring more often? Also is it the issue happening with a specific reference file or is it happening with multiple files?
Regards,
Regie
Since it seems you are working in 3d models maybe the elements end up behind your current view plane. Snapping can also be effected because your cursor could be on a different plane then your elements. I am assuming you are using AutoSnap. If you try to tentative snap on one of these elements, does that work? #d files can be a little cumbersome if you loose sight of what plane your elements are on.
Microstation CONNECT - 10.17.2.61
ORD - 2021 R1 10.10.1.3
ORD 2022 R1.1 - 10.11.3.2
ORD 2022 R3 - 10.12.2.4
Microstation v8i SS 10 - 08.11.09.919
Power InRoads v8i - 08.11.09.615
ProjectWise - 10.0.3.453
This happens in only one file? This happens to only one reference to more then one reference or to all of them. Is it a certain reference that keeps failing to snap to?
Have you checked wether the SNAP toggle in the reference dialog is turned on/off for that particular reference?
Does snap stubbbornness occur when you open the reference for editing as well?

Thanks you for your help,
It also happens when in the 3D file its self, but less often Id say, the file contains section callouts... btw
Even with back and front clipping turned off "no clipping", the items still disappear when navigating and zooming.
Ill try to zoom in and to get a better look and everything just vanishes
Thanks for your help,
Ill look at the tentative snap later today, I had tried turning off any snapping, but this doesn't help.
I had thought removal of clipping Back and Front, would open everything up, but If I zoom in or navigate things also disappear.
