In Edit the Set Mark is highlighted and all else greyed out. I cannot undo a task. Just happened and also my dgn files are not accessible and it is saying unable to create a temporary file for undo. I am on the trial sessions of 15 minutes.RegardsBrian Hunter.
Thanks MaryB.
I haven't used the software for 3 months or so. But previous to that all was OK. What would cause it to change on just opening up the software? Also I am not fully aware of your helpful comments in that is it a cad problem or a windows problem that needs changing. Sorry for lack of knowledge?
Regards
Brian H.

Possibly a Windows update or some action by your IT department? Logged-in as a different user?

Mary's suggestion is to check that one of MicroStation's configuration variables MS_TMP is pointing to a valid folder. By 'valid', we mean that the folder exists and that you have Windows read/write privilege for that folder. MS_TMP is mentioned in MicroStation help.
MS_TMP
To see how a configuration variable is defined, you need to pop the Configuration Variables Dialog. MS_TMP is displayed under category Temp and Backup Files. Assuming that you've found a folder that exists, you'll need to check your Windows access rights.

Microstation PowerDraft V8i Select series 2 for academic use.
Used in evaluation mode now but full mode many years ago.
Hope that helps.

Could be a version problem: only Select Series 10 and CONNECT products are certified by Bentley Systems for Windows 10.

I think the Windows TEMP folder may have changed. Depending on your MicroStation configuration, it may be attempting to put temporary data in a folder that no longer exists. Check your PowerDraft configuration and verify that variable MS_TMP is pointing to a valid folder.
Thank you again for your invaluable assistance.
Much appreciated.
Not having a license isn't affecting your Temp file, but it WILL affect your ability to use the software for any length of time. Whatever license you may have been using has quite possibly expired, and the software will not run in unlimited mode without a valid license. It's also possible that someone attempting to "clean up" your computer has accidentally deleted the license file.
The temp file/Undo issue is reasonably solved by changing the MicroStation MS_TMP variable to a valid directory location.
Running without a license cannot be solved without a license file.

His.
Yes I have solved the temporary file problem now as you expertly suggested.
Also the Edit undo has righted itself. But I am supposing it was connected to the other issue.
Yes it is a bind restarting every 15 minutes but I am used to it now since only use the software occasionally for friends and family.
Even though I am retired now and want to continue to use the software, I don't know how to find the registration key I was given in 2011 for "student use".
But thank you again for all your help.
