Level Display Settings Lost When Drawing Saved, Closed and Re-opened

Hello,

I have a drawing with multiple saved views on the sheet view, each with differing level display settings (ON or OFF) for the references that make up the drawing.

With these all set up correctly in the level Display dialog box, I save the drawing (and the settings, just to be sure!) and close the drawing. However, when I next go back into the drawing, whilst all other edits have been saved correctly, as you'd expect, the level display is completely different, with most references now set to Display OFF and shown grey in the Level Display dialog box. It is easy enough to restore, but a waste of time and a worry if someone else opens the drawing and is unaware of this problem.

Has anybody else seen this issue and, if so, how did you resolve it?

Thanks for your help.

are you using  nested files and sheet models...? this can cause a lot of angst if you try to change things after the files were created..

You basically have to make changes and save changes in the nests...

Can you supply a test dgn to look at with its xrefs

  • HI Lory,

Yes, I am, but all I'm wanting to do is have the references display set to ON when I open the drawing, as it was when saved and closed. I'm not making any other "changes" to the references.

    Thanks,

    Robert

  • you have to go to the nest and basically rebuild it to what you want it to look and then go back to the sheet drawing and reattach the now modified nested files.. its like mstn puts a book mark in nested files when attached to sheets …  I don't have as much problems when not using sheet models .. but sheets give me the sheets when it comes to making changes later....
