[V8i SS4] RSC fonts interfering with TTF

This situation is created by the Geopak labeling tools, but I believe there should be a MicroStation solution because the core of this is a MicroStation function.

Our client has provided us an RSC file for certain fonts, but this file also has "extra" RSC fonts that are duplicates of certain TTF. We are supposed to use the TTF when we can, so I don't know why the RSC has those duplicate fonts (probably lax housekeeping).

It is very easy to accidentally (or through software labeling) use the RSC version of the font. This causes issues when files are sent to other places (or worked on in other offices) that (for whatever reason) do not have that RSC file. Because the RSC font is a duplicate of the TTF, things all look the same on our screens, but not the same (missing font) when opened in other places. As you can imagine, this is a bit of a mess.

I know about the MstnFontConfig.xml, where I can tell Microstation to "hide duplicates", but that will hide subsequent fonts with the same name, and the first one found (and the one shown) is always the (bad) RSC font. This does not help!

Is there any way to tell MicroStation to PREFER the TTF in case there is a font match?
Alternately, is there a way to remove one font from an RSC file?

Even better, is there a way to search for text in ALL places text-like objects can be found (notes, dimensions, cells, etc.) for a certain font, and just change the font without changing anything else? No, some of these were not created with a text style...
I didn't set this up but it's my job to clean it up now.

Thank you.
