So how to now fix text elements in CONNECT or v8i which has set line length override to zero but text style has line length of 255? See attached file if text is edited or global text style parameters are edited the text element changes to text node which is not expected.

I think the question came up in the original post because of Text line lengths set (accidentally or on purpose I don't know) to ZERO.
I can see how that could be a problem if there's no way to re-set that value to match the original text style setting.
I can also follow along with a desire to "reset" overridden text attributes (either certain selected attributes or "all") to "By Style". It is easy to change text away from "By Style" (which can be very useful) but not as easy to get them back in conformance (which could also be useful).

That is correct I do not need to use text length but as v8 DGN is still in use there are files which has some text attributes set in previous versions. Look more globally this post is just an example what we have to deal with because of flaws in text style handling in Microstation environment. Removing features like line weights for text or line length didn't help to make it easier to use text elements but made it even more confusing as these attributes are still working behind the scene. Ok for me it took 5min to understand what was happening but most users doesn't have any clue that text elements that uses text styles can have overriden values which differ from text style and can't be simply fixed just by resetting text style. We are clearly missing some tool or notification when such elements are encountered. At least in CE version such text elements no longer corrupt global text style on edit as it did before but still the underlying issue is not resolved.

To be clear would allowing for the resetting of text attributes to text style values allow for fixing text elements modified in previous versions or are you also looking for come type of change in CONNECT Edition functionality as well?
