Sheet size seems to be off

Trying to wrap my head around sheet setups

When I setup an Arch D sheet (24" x 36") the upper right corner does not hit 24.00000 x 36.00000 exactly and I was trying to understand what it was doing (see attached).

Is it just how Bentley made the sheets or is there a scaling issue going on?

Being a surveyor in New Jersey my default is to be in U.S. Survey Feet so it always throws minute scales into things

  • In all practicality you are right, it does not matter but i have had prints not print because the paper size did not match a pre-configuration.  With everything digital and taken out the Nth degree (but truncated for your viewing pleasure) I can see a potential for a stupid hang up down the road.

I'll live with the referenced models being slightly off because they got referenced into an Inches sheet instead of a US Survey Inches sheet.

  • But why should it NOT be as accurate as possible?
I am an advocate for draughting accurately at all times, and sometimes, sequence can play a part in how accurate the resultant becomes.
But the major bugbear is when I create a new SHEET and I start in a DESIGN MODEL, the units transfer across to the SHEET.
I know we can set up seed templates to use, and IMPORT, but users get caught out, such as this case above, with the MODEL units becoming the SHEET units by default.
Not a smart methodology, and Bentley could add a screen to ask for the units when setting up the SHEET. IMO.
