I was wondering if there was a way to have the option like when drafting in AutoCAD, in the middle of drawing a line you can SHIFT+Right Click and see the menu to choose from. Like if I wanted to draw from mid between 2 points? Can you get MicroStation to do this somehow?
Yes! If you go to the menu and select Workspace -> Button Assignments, you can change what mouse button combinations bring up which menus The "Action" you want to assign is "inputmanager menu tentativepopup"
And in case you were wondering, the "Action" for middle-button panning is "pan drag" (in case that hasn't been set up for you)

I am still trying to figure out how to get this menu to pull up that shows the snap points? I know it doesn't have mid b/w 2 points, but I still want to have this option in the middle of drawing lines and I can SHIFT+Right-Click and have this menu pop up that you recommended. I went to the WorkSpace>Button Assignments as shown below and chose that option and hit OK, but I don't see where it says SHIFT+Right-Click, it says SHIFT+Tentative, which I am assuming is the same thing when in the middle of a command? But I still SHIFT+Right-Click when drafting and the only options I get are like Reset, Quick-Save, Quickset Recall, Displayset, Fit View, Window Area and Zoom in and that's about it, no option that shows EndPoint, MidPoint, Center, Nearest or like you had recommended? I'm sure I am just missing something that you will amazingly help me out with?

I even changed it to SHIFT+Reset and still does the same popup menu that is not what I'm looking for.
Have you saved the button menu? Is your configuration loading your saved button menu? I've seen the menu saved as something other than the configured file...drove me nuts.
Can you attach your button menu file here?
You can find the file by checking your configuration variables for MS_BUTTONMENU
That will also show you what file MicroStation keeps trying to use
At the top half of the dialog, Click on the CTRL checkbox and change the button pulldown to Reset.Type that command string into the Action line and hit Enter.
The MicroStation buttons aren't labeled as "Left/Middle/Right" because MicroStation allows the user to define what button is used for which. By default:
DATA -> Left mouse button (LMB)TENTATIVE -> Left-Right Chord (HATE this - I always set it to "middle" on a multi-button mouse)RESET -> Right mouse button (RMB)
So that's what they are talking about when they say "Shift+Reset"; that's Shift+RMB
In this specific dialog, don't look at what the button is called as a function. Tentative functions can be assigned (with a modifier) to the Reset button. Ye, that sounds a little backwards, but it actually makes more sense to me with my multi-button mouse to NOT be tied into simple left-right. It also worked well for friends who were left-handed. The button is named for it's primary function, but any auxiliary functions can go onto any button.
A command that you want to assign to CTRL+RMB would be assigned to CTRL+Reset
For some reason it will not let me upload the file. So annoying. I can attach other files, but not the BTNMENU file for some odd reason. It's only 1KB. I can send via my email. I'll PM you my email. I changed the file name from Default.btnmenu to Default.pdf and it let me upload the file. Try changing the file name back to it's original name with .btnmenu after the name instead of .pdf. I placed a pic of the original file and it's name for you as well. Hope that works.
default.pdf
Try this. Without the ability to share my screen with you, I just edited it. You'll have to rename it back to the proper extension when you copy it back over.

You can find the Tentative button bar as an option besides the Snaps item in the Settings menu

When a file cannot be attached, why you do not try to zip it? It helps often.

That did it. I can see the menu pop up when I choose the CTRL+Right-Click. SO helpful. Thank you!!!
You're welcome!I may not be able to help with a lot of the newer technology, but I'm pretty good with the older drafting tools. I'm always happy to help.
