Can I create MText that is Formatted with bullets and/or numbering?

I was wondering if there was a way to create multi-line text like AutoCAD let's you do? So in AutoCAD, you can create text via the MTEXT and you can format the text with rows, columns, auto-adjust, manual, bullets, numbering and unlimited possibilities. But the guy I asked around in the office I just started in says he doesn't know how to do that and he just does his text via the regular text dialog where every time you hit return its its own single line, which is annoying if I am creating notes in a drawing and I have 85 notes and then the engineer removes a few, then I have to renumber and move everything every time. In AutoCAD I can just delete the notes and the numbering will adjust accordingly and I can move the columns and rows to fit my real estate. Thanks in advance.

  • yes you can. The way I generate this annotation is using Microsoft Word as shown below.

Just type your text as needed in Word using the appropriate Bullets or Numbering options and then select what I want and copy as shown below.

The I open my Text Editor in MicroStation and Paste as shown below. And if you need to adjust the location of your bullet rows, you can select as shown below and slide you margin over as needed like i have shown with the red arrows.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

  • Um isn't this what I posted  all along 4th feb?

why most of us revert to MS word  and its semi automated  and  copy paste back into the word processor if its true type font  it works a treat...

.. and everybody has access to MS office or OpenOffice or at least  a real word processor... seems the best east route the only down fall may be some fonts don't match.. but nice to see you worked it out from my post and pasted some pixs..( V8i .. so I suppose the macro for CE from LA solutions wouldn't  work in v8i.)
