We have a drawing where the line styles have dropped from the drawing and won't reimport? Nothing was happening with drawing at the time either...tried reimporting the lstyle.rsc but editor still stays blank. Only affects this one drawing. Anyone had this happen before?
ta muchly in anticipation.

Hi Keith,
as clear from posted reactions, it's not quite clear what your situation is.
Were rsc files used as line styles definitions for the design file? In such case, they are not "(re)imported", because MicroStation only displayes rsc file content and stores "links to rsc definitions" with elements. When rsc file is removed (is deleted or MicroStation configuration changed), the line styles are not displayed.
Or you use dgnlib(s), created from rsc file(s)? In such case, when a line style is used for the first time in particular DGN file, the whole definition is copied to the file (cached), with a link back to source dgnlib (to be able to track, whether it should be updated when source definition is changed). This way is more robust, because everything is stored inside the file and not removed until a style is not used and the file is compressed.
Or some other way was used?
With regards,
Jan

We just use the .rsc files "out of the box" and never had this happen before, very strange. When we get some breathing space we will try and move with the times and use dgnlib files which we already use for customising tools etc.
While DGNLIB files are a great way to distribute linestyles, I do believe that you need to maintain the RSC files in case you need to create or edit any of your linestyles. DGNLIB files do not have any linestyle management capability, last I checked.
