In V8i it was possible to copy/paste a reference file -when set to Manipulate as Element- in a different model . It was copied as reference in the destination model.
It was very useful.
How can you do the same in CE ?
Chris
Instead of copying to the clipboard you can reference in the model that contains the reference and then make the nested references direct attachments or switch from live nesting to copy attachments to copy attachments.
Hi Chris,
As a workaround you can:

Thank Ron, but:
- In OBD7, you can not select the full path name. Double-Click does nothing. No way to select the path
- This workaround is just to avoid to browse to find the reference file but that is not my problem. The main benefit to the old copy/paste method was to keep the same insertion point / rotation / scale of the reference file. Especially in 2D Sheet this was very useful if you needed to copy details or referenced annotations.
Regards,
Thank you David. Sure you can do that. But it is not convenient if you have a lot of references files and it is a lot of clicks compared to CTRL+C / switch model / CTRL+V. It was working before. What prevents this to work in CE ?
regards,
I guess it's a OBD specific issue. You'd better post (or move) your question in the OBD forum as this is the plain Microstation forum.
