I can not delete a dimension style.  Remapped elements and can not delete dimensions style

  • What happens when I send the drawing out to the customer?

  • If you do not send the client the DGNLIB and the style is not used in your drawing, that dimension style will not show up.

  • I am not an administrator so will not be sending out dgnlib files.  I made a text style set to center center so I could add it to my dimension style and the text would be centered (per advice on this forum).  As it is, I have to center by adding spaces to the text, exploding or just any way I can.  The plan was to use it like an AutoCAD block attached to the drawing.  Dream on.

Since I can't use a dgnlib file of my own, I cannot create cell libraries, text styles, dim styles, layer libraries.  I guess my time spent looking into this feature has been useless.  Are there any other features (traps) I should be on the lookout for?  I guess it's not possible to make a custom anything unless I do it for each drawing, if that is even possible?

  • I'm confused - this post is about deleting a dimension style.

If you have other questions, you should probably create posts for each of them.

That said, if you are not the Administrator, you are somewhat limited in what you will be allowed to do. It could be possible to create your own DGNLIB (Personal.dgnlib) but I can't say where you would be allowed to store it, or whether you could set up the mapping to be able to see it all the time.

Your time hasn't been wasted, but your company hasn't given you the authority to implement them. Those are conversations to have with your CAD administrator.

  • A personal DGN Library seems very limited.  This is from the Bentley Help Site:

Tip: If you want to create resources that will be available only to you, save them in a "personal" DGN library. A personal DGN library can contain only user interface modifications: customizations of tools, toolboxes, and ribbon.
