Hi Ladies and Gents,I need to export .dgn files to Advance Steel/ AutoCAD but when I do, all the element information isn't available to view with properties in advance steel. Is there a way to export all models and information attached to AutoCAD? Please help!!Thanks.
Would you be able to provide details of the Bentley software and version being used to export. I assume you're talking about exporting to a DWG format file. The DWG file produced would depend on which software it is coming from and the settings and type of elements and properties you are expecting in this file.

Hi Andrew,I'm using MicroStation V8i. There is information Tied to each modelled steel that i would like to extract into a .DWG file in AutoCAD. See below.

How is that information attached to a DGN element? That's not plain old MicroStation V8i in your screenshot: are you using an app to model your steel objects?

Hi Jon,this was a model I have received from a client I'm not sure as to how the information is attached. The program I'm using is MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries3). The File type is a (.dgn.i.dgn) if that's any help.
This is an iModel packaged file and is read only. Check with your client which software these files were created in. You can use the iModel ODBC Driver to extract the attributes.
Check this video on how to use.
