When pasting from MicroStation Connect text elements seem to be sorted by co-ordinate.
Is it possible to paste the text in the order selected? Why is MicroStation sorting before sending to clipboard.
eg: copy areas in site number order and paste in excel - worked in V8
(Just forced to move to MicroStation Connect from V8 2004)
I would file a service ticket about this, because it seems to be a regression. As I recall, the default behavior WAS to copy (paste) elements in the order they were selected. Any other behavior would be illogical and problematic.

Assuming the elements were selected individually, sure that likely implies the desired order. The issue comes from things like box selection, then the selection set is ordered by file position, which isn't usually meaningful.
Currently text is indeed ordered by it's user origin so that it's sorted into columns/rows. The selection set doesn't keep track of how it was constructed, and even individual selection could potentially add multiple elements when group lock is active.
The current behavior (which was requested) certainly is logical, just not always desirable apparently...sounds like a user preference would be appreciated.

I can see how the different selection methods could play into this, and produce different results.
I don't know one would distinguish from a "box" selection vs. a "chosen" selection, but yes, some way of specifying a preference would be helpful.
The more options available for the user, the better.
