I had been advised by Bentley that "If nothing major happens update 15 should be released beginning of October", so as it's well passed the beginning of October then I'm guessing that something has happened.
Could someone from Bentley confirm when U15 is likely to be released?
Regards,
Stuart
Considering the last two updates 13/14 have both required escalation builds to correct software breaking bugs that couldn't be worked around by some users... I hope they keep U15 in the oven till it's well done.
Yes, considering the last 2 updates, I would not get too excited. They will have 5 fixes and 2 new bugs. So how does it feel being an unpaid beta tester?
Me, I no likey. Consider jumping ship. Anyone know of a good open source CAD project?

It would be interesting to know who told this, because about 2 month ago an information I received was something like "to have demonstrable close-to-be-final version for YII conference presentations, with an expectation of public release in November (when everything will go fine)".
It follows well an idea of 6 month release cycle (U14 was release at the beginning of May if I remember right).
It's funny how people again and again ask for the same thing, even when Bentley policy for years is "no exact release dates".

It's not any proof of "it's close", because for some releases, documentation was published (sometimes even publicly) 2 months before the release. But I agree it's a kind of proof the version is prepared to be published ;-)

I disagree, in my opinion last two updates represented more enhancements and fixes (especially in performance area) than all previous versions together. Of course it does not mean it's perfect and enough, especially U14 contains few very annoying (new!) bugs like problem with tags (fixed partially only in U14.1, memory leaks in API...).

It depend what you mean by "good CAD project" and what your requirements are. When it's about 2D drawing, there are many open source, free (but not open source) and local products. But when it's about 3D modeling, it's getting worse and existing ones are typically mechanical engineering focused. And when talking about long term projects, where data modeling, consistency and interoperability are important, I think no simple replacement exists (of course other competitive expensive solution can be used).

It's interesting not only Bentley has this problem, I was surprised how critical situation is e.g. with Revit (leading to an open letter to Autodesk management). Sounds like in some life period, software and technology become so complex, that to introduce new features leads to instability and fixing takes more and more time. Plus, in the case of Bentley, it's also about resources allocation to very intensive iModelJS / iModel Twins / iModel Hub development (new version is release every few weeks).

Where do you see that as I don't see U15 at https://docs.bentley.com/LiveContent/index.html
