Seems you're trying to open a drawing created in one of our civil products.

You can remove the civil schema from the affected drawing with a VersionChecker.exe, small executable file which can be found in the installation folder of civil products such as OpenRoads Designer.

when errors and exceptions are discussed, it's always helpful to:

• Specify MicroStation version exactly (as recommended by the best practices). From your post, it's not clear what generation (V8i, CE) and version (e.g. CE Update 14.2) do you use.
• Copy details to e.g. text file, zip it and to attach it to your post.

Does it mean MicroStation is not able to open DGN file created in ORD?

Perhaps the drawing needs to be a "civil" drawing". I would not recommend anyone strip civil data from a drawing unless they knew for certain that information was not important.

And I would echo Jan - why would we not be able to open a civil drawing with regular MicroStation? There is plenty of drafting on a civil plan set that isn't specifically civil design. Are the drawings not accessible across platforms anymore?
