Is it possible to run a batch process of some kind on multiple files? I was hoping to use this as a model register by add Item Types to each design file and exporting out the excel. I've seen in previous posts a mention of using the key-in reports export , but I have not had any luck with this yet.
Thanks
what exactly are you wanting to report on? You could write an app that could open files and add item types and populate them and then report to an external spreadsheet.
Hi Mark
That is exactly what my end goal is, similar to a drawing register that would extract the tags now item types.
I thought I would start off by using the built-in tools before I attempted an app in vba.
I ended up adding a description to the default models and running a report using the Dgn Model Item Type. This works well, though it would be great if it was possible to customize a template that is used when exporting out to excel
It might be worth explaining exactly what you are expecting as a find product for this report. When you say it is "similar to a drawing register" have you looked at the capability already provided in MicroStation CONNECT Edition for Sheet Index. This might cover what you are trying to perform and cover all of the capabilities you are expecting from this operation.
