MicroStation CONNECT aborts during translation self-referencing models from command line
The problem can be duplicated with a simple DGN file, created from MicroStation seed file, when the model is self-referencing and BCNV file contains string:referenceMergeOptions.mergeSelfAttachments=3Steps to Reproduce1. Create new DGN file with self-referencing model (see file test_0.dgn)2. Open "Batch Converter" tool in MicroStation Connect. Create new BCNV file for convertingtest_0.dgn to DWG. Make sure that it contains parameter "referenceMergeOptions.mergeSelfAttachments=3" (see test_0.bcnv)3.Close MSConnect4. Run from Command Prompt window:microstation.exe -wabatchconvert "-iC:\projects\test_0.bcnv"Observed (Incorrect) Behavior5. The conversion process seems to silently abort in the middle. The output file is not created. The log file contains information abort process's start.Expected Behavior6. Expected Batch Converter launched from the command line to generate the DWG file and not abort.
Note: If we skip steps (3) and (4) and launch the conversion from MicroStation's GUI, the Batch Converter successfully creates the output file.
Waiting on exact CONNECT version number from the user. Pretty sure it's update 14, so probably 10.14.04.04.
I logged this as SR 7001155809 today.
Has this been resolved? If yes, in what version?
Hi Karl,This bug does not appear to be resolved on current updates of MicroStation CONNECT.I have worked around this issue in the past by following the steps in this video. Perhaps you could use this as well.
Here is the documentation for this workflow:https://docs.bentley.com/LiveContent/web/MicroStation%20Help-v22/en/GUID-D5CAEB8B-785B-C86F-DC1C-D81B36CD9344.html

What version of Connect did you use to run this, Jason? The version I have is not working and after putting in SR 7001511637 I was messaged that is resulted in Defect Report 655275.
Hi Karl,
In the video, I believe this was either Update 15 version 10.15.02.11 or Update 16 version 10.16.00.80.If you are currently running an older version, then I would recommend updating if possible. The most current version available is Update 17 10.17.01.62.-Jayson
