Links of active directory stays open in v8i(SS4) if i open any design file from the active directory and switch between design files or models but in CONNECT Edition it closes and every time i have to reopen active directory tab to switch between other design or model is there any way to set CONNECT Edition like good old v8i.

What do you mean by the 'active directory'?
Have you set up a Workspace and Workset?

you will see when i open my active directory tree it keep it open if i switch between designs but in connect edition tree closes automatically and i have to reopen tree and it start harvesting resources again and again

I think you should create Service Ticket to report this issue, because it seems to be bug in dialog implementation. I agree it's annoying and decreasing efficiency.
