Hi,
We don't want to be "connected." We don't use the Connection Client for anything except licensing. We only have one account per computer. In other words, these icons at the top right corner of Microstation are totally useless to us. In fact, they cause "visual noise" (clutter), and make it harder to find what you're looking for. Also, this causes users to waste time, trying to figure out what these are, even though we don't want or need them.
How do I turn the display of these icons off?
--Thanks,--Robert Arnold
Thank you for the feedback, Robert.
At the moment we do not have the ability to turn these icons on/off per account or user. We value your feedback and will consider making changes during the product road mapping process.
These tools were implemented to solve a problem we were hearing from users. Based on the feedback, they were having trouble finding these common tools from within the application. They are now available to help streamline the workflows when it comes to accessing notifications, learning and support content. It is no problem if you choose not to utilize these features at this time, but we hope they come in handy for you in the future.

Hi Molly,
Thank you for your response. Would you file a feature request for me. I would like to remove these items. My first preference would be on a machine basis, but a user basis would be o.k. too.
Suggestions:1) Make this area customizable, like the Quick Access tool bar.2) Add a setting in the preferences section3) Add a configuration variable.

Would have to agree with you on this one. We don't have (or use) any connected projects.
Hello Stuartw,
Thank you for your feedback. These icons (notifications, help, and user profile) are not specifically tied to connected projects, but are there to help streamline the workflows when it comes to accessing notifications, learning and support content. It is no problem if you do not use connected projects or these features at this time.
FYI, Molly has told me that she will be forwarding some suggestions about the behavior of these icons for consideration in future updates.
Many thanks to her for listening and considering our requests.
