CE U15 - setting active level

when I set active level using Attributes toolbar, the level is set, but also dialog to choose "Recall level filter" appears. is this WAD? and I'm not able to change level of existing element using same tool - again, this "Recall level filter" appears and when I click OK, dialog closes but selected element's level is not changed ...

this "Recall level filter" dialog does not appear all the time, haven't found reason yet. anyway, it's quite annoying.

-- edit --

just to be clear, I'm using Attributes toolbar docked at the bottom edge of the screen, not Attributes group in Ribbon. using Ribbon everything works as expected

thanks

  • If you find that you're also experiencing this issue it would be helpful to raise a new Service Request so you can be linked to Defect 1114651 so our developers can understand how many user might be affected. Any extra details or examples you provide would be most helpful for them to fully understand the issue.

  • Hi Andrew,
I ran into this and found this forum.  My SR number is 7001172649.

Bottom line, it does not matter which file is used.  When you pull down the list, it shows a number of displayed items (level names).  If you select any of the displayed levels, the toolbar works properly.  If you select a level name that is not initially displayed (ie you have to scroll down to get to it), then it brings up this dialog box.

This is similar to the defect in the linestyles portion of the same Attributes toolbox.  If you select an initially displayed linestyle, it works as expected.  If you select one farther down the list, the active linestyle does not change.

This video is done with a virgin dgn file on a clean copy of Microstation CE (Update 15) on a clean Windows 10 virtual machine.

  • we are aware of the work arounds but it sucks having to keep the ribbon open. I guess most of us prefer just having the attributes tool box docked for fast and easy use. I hope they fix this sooner than later.

  • I guess unless they release a quick fix version you'll have to deal with that for the next half year...

  • The usual turn around for my service requests is typically two years, that is, if they ever get it done.

  • I am experiencing the same issue.

Until Bentley fixes this issue, I have customized my Quick Access Toolbar by adding the Drop-down Buttons for Level, Color, Line Style, Line Weight and Transparency. While this doesn't solve the problem, it effectively mimics the Attributes Toolbox except for the Symbology Preview.

Hopefully Bentley will fix it soon!

    Ron
