Good afternoon,
I have just recently updated my version of Microstation to select series 10. It installed successfully, but I couldn’t open it.
So, I have uninstalled and re-installed it several times. I have even uninstalled all the Bentley Microstation related programs using the windows uninstall tool within control panel.
The license is to date and valid.
No error messages appear. The Microstation logo appears then disappears....then nothing else happens.
I just don’t understand why it doesn’t open as it has definitely been installed. You can see in windows that it has been installed.
Any ideas?

After you uninstall, go through and make sure that all Microstation related directories and registry keys are deleted. I went through something just like this, and IT figured out that was the problem - a couple of registry keys that were left over. After they cleaned everything out, my installation worked as expected.

Initially I installed it over the top of a previous installation i.e. 08.11.09.829. Since then I have uninstalled Microstation and re-installed 2/3 times.
I have tried both opening Microstation via the icon in the start menu and by double clicking on a file within windows explorer.
I managed to create a dump file of Microstation in task manager, but I had to be very quick as the icon soon disappeared once I tried to open Microstation. I also have an installation log. Can I upload them on to Bentley communities for you to look at? If so where? many thanks
Ps...The dump file compressed is 116MB, is this too large to upload? (original size is 460MB)

There are a couple of questions to ask to try and understand what is happened here.
It would be helpful if you could provide the installation logs for investigation.

ok , try the following - going thru similar steps above but added some additional things:
Stop the CC (task manager) you may need to do an "end processing tree" on the license service.
Go to c:\users\_yourusername_\appdata\local\bentley\ and look for two *.db files
Delete these two files (or move them into some temp folder somewhere if you don't want to delete them)
Restart the CC and log in. Then start MS.
