I'm currently working in a 3D Stereo dgn file, in ISSD (Imagestation stereo display), within microstation V8i, where I need to move features (more than 50,000) in the Z direction to obtain height information on the feature.
Is there a way to lock the X,Y coordinates while moving in the Z direction while maintaining the XY coordinate integrity of the feature cell?
I've tried messing around with the lock settings in microstation and ACS Plane setting with no luck.
I appreciate any information, thanks!
There are two different methods that you may want to consider.
Method 1 – Use Accudraw to move the elements in a specified Z distance. 1. Select the elements to move. 2. Enter the point to move from. 3. Enter in Accudraw the Z distance that you want to move (leave X and Y blank. 4. Select a point to accept the move. If you enter 50000 in the Z direction, something at a point of 10,10,10 will be moved to 10,10,50010. It will be moved 50000 in the positive Z direction.
Method 2 – Use the Key-in browser to move to a specified Z location 1. Select the elements to move. 2. Enter a point to move from. 3. In the key-in Browser, enter XY=#,#,50000. The pound symbol does not change the coordinate (X and Y) that it is entered for. 4. Press enter to accept the key-in. When using XY=#,#,50000 for the point to move to, something at a point of 10,10,10 will be moved to 10,10,50000. It does not move a distance of 50000 like in method 1, but it moves to the elevation of 50000.
The newest releases of MicroStation CONNECT now have a change elevation command to make changing elevations easier.
Rotating AccuDraw to the Front or Side orientation, and then 'indexing' to the vertical axis (Enter key) will only move elements vertically.
