I was given a microstation challenge and I'm stumped. Given a 3D view of arbitrary rotation, how do I rotate that view around global Z axis for certain degree? Special case would be starting at 1 isometric view, a 90 degree rotation around global Z axis would produce the other isometric views.
Best regards,
Tuan Le
I've got a few work around, involving combo of references and save view, or using construction elements. Just wondering if there's a straightforward tool that I miss.
Hi Tuan Le,
You haven't told us which version of Microstation you're using. It's always best to follow forum best practices.

The solution is similar on both V8i or CE generation (only the way to get there could differ).
1 - You have to open the command for reach what your looking for, which is Define Camera.
a) If using CE generation you can go to Ribbon \ Visualization \ View \ Camera \ Define Camera:
b) Or write "def" without the quotes in Search Ribbon on top right side, it's the first option:
c) In both v8i and CE, you can open the Tool Boxes using CTRL+T and activate the Cameras toolbox:
2 - Now that you have the command opened make sure you have the right view selected and expand the Camera Orientation panel:
Inside the Camera/Orient you can type the angle that you need. And the view will rotate accordingly.
Hope this helps and regards
José
