I was given a microstation challenge and I'm stumped. Given a 3D view of arbitrary rotation, how do I rotate that view around global Z axis for certain degree? Special case would be starting at 1 isometric view, a 90 degree rotation around global Z axis would produce the other isometric views.
Best regards,
Tuan Le
Maybe a simpler option may be to enable the Change View Rotation icon in your View bar and just use that?

Yes, DIALOG VIEWROTATION should also work in V8i.
NB: the tool is pretty old and does not always get updated... so you usually have to click on the View No. dropdown to get the current view rotation.
Also, I usually have the Step setting at 90 degrees. Same update problem. Changing the value in the dialog needs to be followed by an Enter.
the issue with Viewrotation is it only works with View's axis, not global axis.
Should work with the Global Axis, when you select 'Drawing'

Thanks Dom,
I've been looking at that tool in V8i and there's no "drawing" option in V8i. So now I know at least 2 decent ways to do it in CE. Cheers.

It should also be there in V8i.
yeah, not that "V8i" unfortunately, we are still on SS4 in some part of the business.
