I was given a microstation challenge and I'm stumped. Given a 3D view of arbitrary rotation, how do I rotate that view around global Z axis for certain degree? Special case would be starting at 1 isometric view, a 90 degree rotation around global Z axis would produce the other isometric views.
Best regards,
Tuan Le
The option to keep Z axis while rotating is clearly missing. When working with Reality models in real coordinates they are very hard to use as not easy to keep the model vertical.

I am able to rotate by keeping Z fixed by using Accudraw and some combination of key-ins but it shouldn't be that way and some straight forward tool is needed.
I think that you could also use the Place Section Callout tool to generate a view that is aligned with the selected edge (vertices) whilst preserving the Z- direction.
The Place Section Callout tool works with Accudraw and you would place the Section Callout in a Top view.
After placing the Section Callout, you can use the Apply View button from the Menubar (Camera Position should be set).
Once placed, the SC can be moved and rotated to align with another face as needed using Accudraw + Snaps.
