All those commands still work in Connect, you do need the p, (to tell it it's a primitive), but there are also keyins for each, eg construct tangent between. Everything there is easily accomplished with Accudraw shortcuts, but I will occasionally use those if multiple operation is necessary. I don't remember having access to that level of input with IGDS, but we used those paper menu/digitizer for years.

RE: Construct perpendicular to element tool in Connect

those are from V5.5 menu which can still be found in V8i and V10 under 55menu.dgn ( turn on level 63 to see the commands) there is also 8menu.dgn

These were intended for using the digitiser but I also found it handy to build keyins etc they use the action strings and also the 2 letter primitive commands ( very early mstn / IDGS I think)

They may not all work in your version ie Connect but worth a try if your looking for fancy keyins to make your own tools

The Construct Line at Active Angle is right in the base ribbon and does exactly what you need, as well as incorporating Construct Tangent Line.
I remember seeing that symbol a long time ago...V4? Ages ago...

I'm in V8i but I believe the keyins are

CONSTRUCT PERPENDICULAR TO

and

CONSTRUCT PERPENDICULAR FROM

You can try those in Connect, and if they work, make yourself a new custom toolbar or ribbon panel with them on it.

RE: Construct perpendicular to element tool in Connect

Thanks all. Maybe I did customize it somehow. Remembering how I did that will be fun!

RE: Construct perpendicular to element tool in Connect

I believe you have some sort of custom interface.
