Opening 2 application windows - not working

It will show 2 windows when 2 screens are detected.

Did it show the 2 screens earlier . Is it the first time you used it ?

It is a laptop with an extra screen added with HDMI cable

 and this thread https://communities.bentley.com/products/microstation/f/microstation-forum/156346/dual-monitor-issue maybe you need to Maximize the application window on that monitor

There could be a few settings on your laptop that could affect that.

It's also possible that your second window is opening directly under the first. I've chased that more than once. See if you can minimize the first window. If there is indeed a second window "under" it, you can drag that second window to your other monitor

How are your multiple displays configured?

In the Display Settings verify you have the Extend option selected. The two applications windows probably won't work with any of the other options selected.
