What is this "create new login" to vote for Ideas?

Question

How many Bentley Community accounts do I need to have? 
 I was under the impressions that the Ideas section was a function of the discussion boards and the online Communities. Why am I being prompted to create a new login? 
 Matter of fact, why are the Ideas in a separate area now, and all dated for a couple of weeks ago? 
 If I were more conspiratorially minded, I would think this was done to make it more difficult to submit and support ideas. Especially since it appears we can no longer easily tell how many of them have been requested for YEARS. 
 Please fix this, and fix it soon. We should NOT need to create an entirely separate account to vote on Ideas. Those ideas come from these communities, and they should belong to these communities.Moving them to a separate area with a separate login all but guarantees that most community members will not even know such Ideas even exist. 
 It comes across as another tone-deaf "solution" to avoid having to answer to the user base. Communication and collaboration between Bentley and the User base has gone downhill for over a decade and gotten even worse since the release of CONNECT.

Yea, that Ideas forum is just all effed up. They'll fix it when they get around. I'm sure they'll appreciate your comments, the dates, the comments login. Bentley don't seem to test nothing they publish any more. Sad state of affairs.

 Yes, we should have single sign-on (SSO) federated with your Bentley login details at some point next week. I made a note to get back to you when that goes live. Sorry the delay and thank you again for the feedback, much appreciated. 
 We are also reviewing all previous ideas. Please bear with us as there are plenty and some very challenging and valuable ones, so we are carefully discussing among product management, product development, support, user advancement and even some colleagues beyond the product team, like sales and success management, to guarantee that we have the best response. Of course sometimes ideas will fall under &ldquo;will not implement&rdquo;, but we want to be transparent and share our reasoning. We are also working on accelerating delivery of some of the ideas or related workflows to generate value as soon as possible to everyone in this thread and all other MicroStation users. 
 As Ian L regularly says, keep voting and sharing ideas. The ones at the top of the list get reviewed first.

ahhhh - yes - I see now - if you want to provide feedback or vote you need to register (yet you are already logged in to bentley's community). 
 I wonder if I should add this dislike to the ideas page ? 
 the other thing is - it will only let you up the voting number and not vote it down. 
 What if I disagree with the functionality or idea, or have concerns about it or how it will negatively affect me ?

 Totally agree 100% and the paranoid conspiracy theory part of my reptilian part of my brain thinks its on purpose so we don't see or use it ....
