Hi everyone.
I´m currently facing a non deterministic error with a WMS service provided by SDFE (Agency for Datasupply and Efficiency - Denmark)
Every now and then Microstation adds a kind of error tile like this:
And I have no idea why. My first thought was a slow connection, but when I zoom in/out some tiles are pixelated for a longer time than others, so I presume MicroStation is able to load different tiles independently.
Is it possible to get any information or statistics for the WMS connections?
Any comments or suggestions are greatly appriciated.
Regards
Kaare
Unfortunately according to Bentley support this is WAD (Working as designed). This trivial issue is not fixed for ages be it v8i or CE version only hope that adding WMS 1.3 version or proper WMTS implementation will help to avoid this. All you can do is set up Wireshark and try to get the requested xml errors which Microstation replaces with infamous old camera pictures and never logs the real cause.
Background:
It is not only client side implementation is bad, server side implementation was with same trivial intermittent issues never to be fixed so could never really understand if it is server side or client side issue. I reported so many times with different channels so that just gave up and even never got contacted back by any developer to fix it:

Lack of proper WMS support is Microstation trademark for years. Sorry for this but I get depression and graphomania whenever this taboo question regarding WMS support pops up :)
In one of my old work places after I left, they implemented wms for Nearmap, but they didn't want to have to pay for tiles data they already had so they got some genious IT contractor to set up cache on the server which looked at the WMS only downloaded changes to the cached folder and it was the cashed folder that was referenced in the ref manager... I'm sorry I don't know how they did it but I believe there may be instructions on Near Map website....I hope this gives enough clues to assist people... we don't use many well I don't have access to wms local data here in Oz but our govt web site has tiles for download in formats we need.. and with bing and google earth in msnt we can see how up todate things are or even download tiles from nearmap...
