When the space between extension lines is too small for arrows, how do I set my style to put the arrows on the outside of the extension lines?
Thanks,
Koog
Hi Koog,
This can be controlled by "Fit Options" setting in Dimension Styles dialog > Geometry Tab > Fit Options > Text/Terminatordocs.bentley.com/.../DimStylesMozartGeometry.html
If you need to switch back and forth between "inside" and "outside", you can set up a pair of function keys with keyins:
DIMSTYLESET FITOPTIONS FITOPTION INSIDE
and
DIMSTYLESET FITOPTIONS FITOPTION OUTSIDE
This can't change terminators along a single string of dimensions (they will always be either inside or outside if all placed in the same run) but it is nice when dimensioning different things of different sizes.I have this on my F10 and Shift+F10 function keys so I can swap back and forth as I need to while detailing.

I tried every setting. The arrows in the small dimensions are still inside the extension lines. I only want the small dimensions to change, not all.
I used to do a lot of structure detailing. Dimensioning was never up to the task. I still use it on occasion, it's useful. There are a lot of settings, but for me, it's never been up to the drafting quality I desire. Someday.

Then you will have to make your small dimensions separately from your big ones, and use the "outside" setting for just those.
You can also try "Term Moves First" but I don't know how to fine tune that setting.
