Hello,
I use reports to export data to excel.
I then make som layout changes in excel.
But when I export my data again (because of changes in my drawing) I have to overwrite my excel file and all my layout changes are lost.
Is there a way to use excel templates or something similar to avoid this?

What version of MicroStation are you using and what type of info are you taking from the report? maybe a sample file would be helpful to understand your issue.

One way would be to use a formatting worksheet in Excel. That worksheet can reference data imported to Excel from your report in a data worksheet.
Reference from one worksheet to another in the same Excel workbook...
Reference from one worksheet to another in a different Excel workbook...
Here are some ideas about Excel...

Jon,
Thanks for your input.
I think this will indeed be the most realistic option this moment. But the system of referencing in excel is not always very practical.
You have to import your data in your data worksheet, then reference it from within your formatting worksheet....

Why? It's been around as long as MicroStation. If it weren't practical one would think that Microsoft would have fixed it by now.

Exactly. You'll probably find other members of your organisation (the accountants, for example) have been doing similar for years.
