I am a 1 year MicroStation CONNECT Edition user (Version 10.13.01.01)
I want to delete a dimension style. I did not set it up, don't know where it came from or where it is used. I don't want to see it in my dimension styles anymore. How can I know where it is used to know if I need to keep it? How can I get rid of it?
Thanks,
Koog

If you hover over the various dimension styles listed in dimension styles dialog box, you can check whether its local style(defined locally in dgn file) or library style(defined in a dgnlib). You can also identify this from the icon, check Dimension Styles list section: Dimension Styles Dialog (bentley.com)

In case of a local style, it can be deleted by right click > delete option over dimension style name. For a library style, the delete option will be greyed out. Hover over a library style dimension style, it will show you a complete path of a dgnlib in which that dimension style was defined. You need to open the dgnlib and delete the dimension style from there. Relaunch MicroStation.
I don't recommend deleting dimension styles from DGNLIBs unless you are the person in charge of the CAD standards for your office. They probably came from somewhere specific and are needed by others in your organization.

Completely agree with MaryB. I should have added this point in my initial reply. Please delete it from dgnlib ONLY if you are a CAD Admin and fully understand that doing so won't effect work of others.
This is probably another question, but it might be of value to the OP.
Is there any way to "hide" dimension styles in the dialog? I know that several of my clients have a dozen or more dimension styles defined in their standards, but for the work we do, we do not need half of them. Is there any way to filter the display of dimension styles, or hide those that are undesirable? If there isn't, has anyone filed for an Enhancement, and could you share that number with us so we can add our names to the "want" list?
I'd go search the Ideas site to see if this has been suggested, or under development, but that's just a mess right now.
Hi MaryB,
There is no enhancement filed to hide/filter dimension styles in the dialog. Please raise a service ticket asking for this suggestion. As a workaround, try using MS_DGNLIBLIST_DIMENSIONSTYLES, when an empty dgnlib is specified by this variable, it will ignore dimension styles in other dgnlibs.
Well...I don't want to ignore all the dimension styles in DGNLIBs. Just some of them. That's why I asked about filtering. I will see if someone can file a service ticket.
