I am using MicroStation PowerDraft CONNECT V8 edition.
When I open any DGN on the shared server after someone else has been using it, all file paths for references will be lost (it will show up red in the reference box) I will re-attach each reference file path, but then when I close the drawing down and it is re-opened by any other computer in the office, all reference file paths will then be lost for that computer. I can open and close the drawings myself and the file path for the references will remain linked, but only when somebody else needs to use the same drawing, goes in and re-attaches each file path reference for themselves, then when I next open the drawing the file path for the references will be lost.
Can anyone tell me how I can change the default of my computer to be the same as everyone else, so that we don@t have to keep doing this every time we need to use the same drawing?
The only difference between my computer and others in the office (that I can think of) is that my computer has only EVER run with "MicroStation PowerDraft CONNECT edition" and others have only recently started using it since using an older version of MicroStation,
Many thanks.

Set MicroStation configuration variable MS_RFDIR to point to the folder(s) where reference files are located.
MS_RFDIR
Read this MicroStation WiKi article Understanding File Locations And Reference Attachments In MicroStation.

Do you use the full exact paths or relative paths?
I suspect from what happens that your computers don't use the same exact paths. If you'd use relative paths (there's a tick box in the reference dialog) this shouldn't happen as long as the references aren't moved within the folders.
We have two servers, one in each of our offices that are connected. I am the only person having the issue in my office and our tech support says the there's no difference with how my computer is mapping to files.
I always check this box, and it will be applied if I open and close the drawing. But the issue is when somebody else opens the drawing or if I open anyone else's drawings, if someone has connected file path for reference in DGN, it will just defaults to opposite settings for me.
