Hi Rik,

as Lorys wrote, to use "set item toolsettings" is the right way, but unfortunately he did not bother to provide any further detail or link, so it's probably not very useful information.

The most of MicroStation tools (unfortunately not all) allow to define their parameters, displayed in Tool settings dialog, using "set item toolsettings" key-in. This concept is described both in MicroStation documentation and MicroStation wiki.

In the discussed case, to set Use Fence switch, the-key is

set item toolsettings usefencetoggle=1

When following a good practice to define all settings to ensure tool (or F key) works always the same way, the complete key-in would be something like

stretch icon;set item toolsettings usefencetoggle=1;set item toolsettings cellstretchtoggle=1

P.S. In future, please follow the best practices and to specify used product and its exact version, because maybe you use some from old versions that did not support this feature...

ok better than just give you this single keyin your better off learning how to get / find the keyin...

Go to ask inga and read article on Set Item tool settings and you can learn how to find keyin extended settings for almost anything...This article is worth printing to pdf for constant reference material.. I use it alot!
