TR: Dimension Constraint on Cylinder Solid

Anyone else seeing this?

1. Place two Cylinder Solids.

2. Go to Top view

3. Place Dimension Constraint between the two Cylinders.

4. Click to accept

5. Process fails... "***Maximum dependency callback iterations exceeded***"

I am on OBD U8 which I believe is based on Mstn CE U15.1

  • I have tested this operation in MicroStation CONNECT Edition (Update 15.2) 10.15.02.11 and cannot replicate what you have described in this post. As you stated that this is occurring for you in OpenBuilding Designer CE Update 8, based off MSCE U15.1, it may either be version specific that has been fixed in U15.2 or may be specific to OBD. It may also be that it is related to the design file you're working in, if you could provide a copy of this file. You might like to also mention this in the OpenBuildings | AECOsim | Speedikon | Forum.

  • Thanks for posting the file, I am able to reproduce using the method shown above in 10.15.02.11.

But can constrain using the 3D Dimensional Constraint tool.

Following review, Enhancement 1127170 was raised to look to unify 2D/3D Constraint tools and interface

  • gtk...

Slight annoyance that hopefully can be corrected? If the 2d constraint is not designed to deal with Cylinders then it should not accept them as input and provide the user a warning?

Errors like this are very demotivating and a barrier to user adoption.
