Change drainage profile scale

Hello,

I am currently using microStation connect version 10..14.00.109 with a drainage profile showing a scale of 1"=2' and horizontal= !"= 25'.

What I would like is to change the scale to 1"=5' and H=1"= 10' without redrawing my drainage profile all over again from scratch.

Can someone provide me the steps.

Thanks

  • MicroStation, or something like OpenRoads Designer?

If this is just MicroStation elements, you can scale things unequally in the X & Y directions - just click to unlock them in the tool settings dialog.
If this was generated by some kind of design software, you will need to work within that package.

  • Hello,

Ok, this was created using Microstation elements. So are you saying I just need to go to scale and change the x y to x=10 y=5 what about fencing the element.

Sorry I am still kind of new to this.

    Please provide me the steps.

  • I have trouble thinking in ratios, so you may have to figure out the math yourself, but I can describe the basic steps to unequally scale something.

If I have a block that I drew at 2' x 2', I can select that block (with either the Element Selection tool or by placing a fence) and choose the Scale Element tool. Normally, the X and Y scale factors are locked together, but there is a little lock icon next to them that I can click and I will see it "unlock". Now I can set my X factor by 2 and my Y factor by 3 and scale my block. The end result is a block shape that is 4' x 6'.

I don't know exactly how that relates to the profile you have drawn because I don't know how you've drawn it, but you can see what happens if you scale it by X = 2.5 and Y = 0.4. I got those factors by dividing the "desired value" by the "original value" (5/2 = 2.5 and 10/25 = 0.4)
