When using the minimum measure in MicroStation Connect edition it says ‘cannot measure the distance between two elements’ ?
Open the same file in V8i edition and the minimum measure works seamlessly as it should.
Is this a program bug or has something changed for this function in Connect edition , and if so why?
Thanks,
Andy
Hi Andrew,
can you please provide details what MicroStation CONNECT Edition do you use (as described in the best practices)? There have been many versions (I guess nearly 20) released so far, so it can be important to know what one do you use.
Also, to provide test data would help to analyze the problem, because the formulation "between two elements" is too general (there are numerous of possible combinations of different element types).
With regards,
Jan

Yes, we need that file (or a portion of it). Could well be a bug. Connect is bug ridden

Hi,
Can you please send us a testcase file so we can investigate.
Thanks

MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 14 – Version 10.14.02.01
I have done some further testing and Minimum Measuring between two single elements does seems to work. The problem occurs when performing minimum measure to a 3D object. So it could be how the CONNECT version looks at 3D objects. This has worked in all previous versions up until now. My current work around is to ‘Drop’ Solid to Wireframe then perform the 'minimum measure'. The same problem also occurs for 'construct a minimum distance line'. Thanks.

It still does not answer Paul's question whether it's possible to provide test data.

What exactly does it mean? Please, be more specific. By "previous versions" you mean V8i or CE?
Were you able to test it also with the current CE U15.2?
